Course Description

This course seeks to bring the practicing otolaryngologist up to date with the latest techniques in otologic surgery, including chronic ear disease, otosclerosis, vestibular disorders, and endoscopic ear techniques. Faculty will provide lectures and dissection demonstrations. Under the guidance of faculty, course participants will perform dissections on three fresh temporal bones in the state-of-the-art Mass Eye and Ear surgical skills lab. We will also offer an alternate track in which participants will observe lectures and live surgery.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Utilize the latest surgical techniques to treat patients with chronic otitis media and otosclerosis
  • Integrate the latest methods for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with vestibular disorders
  • Incorporate the newest endoscopic ear surgery techniques into clinical practice

This course is targeted to specialty physicians who practice in Otolaryngology.
