Course Description

Most practices grapple with the challenge of enabling patients to be drivers of their own wellness regimen. Nutrition is a vital part of Lifestyle Medicine, which not only prevents disease, but is integral to the treatment, management (and reversal) of many non-communicable chronic diseases such as type-2 diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, stroke, high cholesterol, many cancers including breast and colon, depression, anxiety, osteoarthritis, and sexual health issues.

This course includes five practice sessions in small groups. Each session has been lengthened to 90 minutes, and up to 10 people can register per group. The course will repeat in three cohorts during FY22, with several groups available on different day and times:

July 12 - August 13, 2021 (9 groups)
January 10 - February 11, 2022 (9 groups)
April 4 - May 6, 2022 (8 groups)

Registrants must complete the CHEF Coaching the Basics within the past three years as a prerequisite. To register for CHEF Coaching the Basics through the Institute of Lifestyle Medicine conferences click here or choose the self-paced online course by clicking here. Completion of both CHEF Coaching the Basics (skill-based classes) and CHEF Coaching Beyond the Basics (practice sessions in small groups) grants graduates with a Certificate of Completion in Culinary Coaching from the Institute of Lifestyle Medicine and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.
