Gambling Disorder in Your Practice: Information and Resources

Gambling Disorder in Your Practice: Information and Resources is dedicated to increasing provider understanding of disordered gambling and its importance to their practice. This case-based course will include information about the epidemiology and clinical features of disordered gambling and will detail options for the primary care provider with regard to screening of and referral for disordered gambling.

This course does not include video lectures.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • List validated tools for screening for gambling disorder
  • Recognize how mental health conditions relate to gambling disorder
  • Identify principles of motivational interviewing that can be applied to patients experiencing gambling problems
  • Identify web-based, self-help resources for people who want to change their gambling behavior

Target Audience

This course is intended for primary care physicians, specialty physicians, psychologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, social workers, researchers (PhDs), and other mental health professionals.
