There is increasing attention and research associated with issues of sex and gender in the treatment of children, adolescents, adults, and their families, and clinicians must be brought up to date on these findings. As questions and concerns arise, and socio-cultural changes occur, clinicians need to be aware of how these issues will impact their practice and how they can and should respond. Knowledge is needed on how to address these matters and create an environment in therapy to help patients speak to their experiences and concerns. Mental health and health clinicians, sex therapists, educators, and others will learn new strategies that they can apply in their practice setting. The educational format will include didactic lectures, case presentations, panel discussions, and Q&A.
