We understand that, as a specialist, you must keep your knowledge of general medicine current with clinical practice in relevant disciplines outside of your field of expertise. Whether you are a psychiatrist or pathologist, cardiologist or rheumatologist, surgeon or hospitalist, you can rely on this course for updates in general medicine that impact day-to-day practice, clinical decisions, and patient care. We have developed the curriculum for General Internal Medicine for Specialists to provide broad and inclusive content for all the disciplines that interface with generalist practice. This course provides updates for the most prevalent conditions, reviews exciting new and innovative therapies, and addresses key clinical controversies that will impact your professional work with patients and peers. We present updates in several areas including:

  • Up-to-date guidelines and management strategies for diabetes, cardiovascular disease, lipid disorders, hypertension, chronic lung disease, sleep disturbances, cognitive decline, and chronic pain

  • The ongoing impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the practice of general internal medicine

  • Improved strategies for assessing and managing interacting comorbidities

  • Potential adverse interactions between medications you prescribe and those prescribed by collogues in other specialties
